Springfield of Dreams Charity Cup
Meeting Report – 7/18/2006
- Attending: Lisa Webb, Sharon Diviak, Jennifer Smith,
Cindy Beckdahl, Laura Watkins, Jeanine Cline and husband, Gene Pitstick
- Absent: John Berry, Tony Cooper, Cyndi DeCarlo, Jill
Woods, Tiffani Kaffenbarger,
- Admin Report – Gene Pitstick
- Contract with
National Trails corrected (thanks to Miguel and Cindy) and signed
- We have 39
applications which is about the same as this time last year.
- Candy and Charity Cup
info cards were distributed to all coaches attending the MVYSA General
Meeting
- Roster size changes
caused us to lose one team from Columbus
- Marketing has sold
about $1400 so far
- Charity Cup Web site
structure has changed some (Maps/directions, width, pictures).
Rivershark has made arrangements with DDN to get articles on their
website, I have asked Tony to write one for Dream Soccer.
- Group agreed to allow
vendor for Multitouch Balls if other vendors agree.
- The group agreed to
allow us to give out free tattoos for Kids Soccer World.
- Miguel ruptured a
disk in his neck last week and is having surgery tomorrow.
- I’ve begun layout of
program, requesting the welcome letters from Miguel and Dr. Duffee.
- I have confirmed that
the following vendors will attend: Jym the Bag Tag Guy - custom bag
tags, Captain Freeze - frozen treats, and The Sweet Athlete - female
sporting goods. Trophy Sports - soccer gear has not responded. Did we
have SSR graphics last year? Yes (McCray Signs also does this)
- Asked coaches for
additional volunteers – no response
- All coaches were sent
a form for spirit messages to distribute and collect by Aug 1
- Meeting Scheduled
with the Turner foundation for 26th
- I’ve asked North HS
for 2 carts
- I will order balls,
corner flags, and pennies soon
- Site committee report - John Berry
- Ask Miste - How many RRs will National Trail have
on site?
- Gene will call John for update on the status of:

- Fun/Special Events report - Jennifer Smith
- She finalizing what CareSource will donate
- Her employer has disposed of the hand sanitizer
dispensers
- Misty has agreed to send the National Trails
mascot and a couple of hundred buy 1 get 1 coupons for the water park.
- She has contacted Cincinnati Kings for a guest
appearance and hasn’t got final response yet.
- Have you contacted Young’s Jersey dairy?
- Heater from Dayton Dragons not available
- Has submitted request for deputies for security
from 9 PM to & AM on Friday and Saturday. Will contact Gene Kelly to
follow up.
- Housing/Registration - Laura Watkins (on Vacation)
and Kathy Nash

- Laura has updated hotel information on the web
site.
- Collecting boxes for team packets, will get bags
from Jennifer Sheehan
- Program/Cleanup – Cindy Beckdahl
- Cindy will arrange purchase of 6 hand sanitizer
units and get to Lisa Webb so her dad can build stands
- Cindy will select printer and get the deadlines
- Dream Soccer - Tony Cooper
- Dates for training sessions – August 1, 3, 8, 10
- Working on sponsors from CRSI and Rotary
- Gene will call for further details (photographer,
numbers, times, sponsors)
- Personnel/ Referee Food – Lisa Webb
- Subway will not help, so we are planning to
purchase needed food from Gordon Foods using discount from Diviak
- Hackett’s will donate 1 case each of apples,
oranges and bananas
- Has got Panera Bread to donate bagels for ref
food in return they are supplying business card ad and stuffer coupons
(1000)
- Will check with Klostermans for bread.
- Will check with Enon for water if Jennifer does
not have for us to use.
- Cedar Point wants to talk about a sponsorship for
next year
- Concessions – Jeanine Cline (U13B), Cyndi DeCarlo
(U10B), Jill Woods (U10G), Tiffani Kaffenbarger (U12B)
- Cindy Beckdahl is still talking with Tim Smith
about concessions contract – Tim agreed to talk to vendor to see what
might be arranged
- Arrange for Food Permit
- Call Vince Chase to arrange Cooler truck loan
from Catholic Social Services
- See if equipment loan and food purchase can be
done with Sheehan Brothers Vending
- T-shirts/Awards – Sharon Diviak
- Reviewed our trophy possibilities with group
- Get rectangular medals with ribbon for neck
- See if patch can be rectangular and deadline for
order
- Gene will get what to order for ref perk to
Sharon
