Marketing Committee Meeting Report – 7/13/2006

- 33 apps – slightly
ahead of this time last year (3 new this evening)
- Scott LeMieux is
working on a sponsorship from an Urbana MRDD business
- Mike Gibson, Patti
Davis and Tracey Deam have dropped off committee
- Jennifer has
important RHC function tonight and leaves for vacation on Friday until 26th.
She has not had success arranging a meeting with Springfield News Sun yet
- Do not contact Panera
Bread – Lisa Webb has got them to donate food for referees.
- Paul Cross working on
Bill Spain at Lowes
- Gene Pitstick –
working on contacting Mark Miller at National Trails about an ad for
Splash Zone. I will get parent lists for each team to marketing members.
- Cindy Skeens - has
faxed items to Duane Dodds at Jeff Wyler but not yet got a response. Bill
Marine will not be able to help us. She has made calls to Foreman Blair
and Springfield Ford and CN. She is finalizing Urgent Care ad. .
- Leslie Vasquez - we
should hear from the Turner Foundation this coming week about a meeting
time. We will either meeting with John Landess or Sophia Vandiford (Grant
Coordinator for the foundation). She called the coke rep (no response
yet) and Glenda Greenwood, Huntington (they won’t be able to help us) .
- Laura Watkins - I
also finally received the contracts from the hotels. She will contact V
Gibson to determine status of contact with Bob Smith and will again
contact TGI Fridays. Laura will work on contacting CFA, Clark Shaffer,
Hackett, realtors and pharmacies and will ask Kathy Nash to begin
contacting physicians and dentists
- Jody Distl – Red
Lobster donated $15 in coupons. We will give them to the marketing member
who secures the most ad dollars. Brian at Pizza Hut on Derr Road
interested in selling pizza at tourney with a donation to club. Has made
contacts with several other Beckdahl Avenue restaurants. Tony Coopers
sister is contacting Walmart.
- Michelle Goodfellow -
has a 1/2 page add confirmed by International Harvester Employee Credit
Union
- Committee member
volunteered to contact the parents of each player on several Thunder teams
to find potential ad sources.
- We discussed and came
up with a plan for spirit messages: Coaches will be given forms to give to
parents and they will collect and return to a committee member by August
1.
- Gene will ask coaches
to recruit some additional volunteers to replace those who have dropped
off and those who have not responded.
- Submit all
advertising or sponsor agreements, money and artwork to Laura Watkins.
- The group agreed to
submit a progress report by the evening of July 20 via email to Gene who
will prepare a report and share with all.
