Club Meeting - Springfield Thunder Soccer
Club held its annual club meeting in Hoban
Hall in St. Raphael's Church
Wednesday, February 27.
Teams were well represented as a large number of parents attended!
Reports were given by the Treasurer, President and tournament manager.
The election to the club officers for this year was held. Spring
Training plans were announced. Committees were established.
Those attending were provided with an opportunity to ask questions and
make comments. Plans to reopen the Club Spirit Shop were made.
Those teams with
more than 50% of their parents attending will receive
free phone tree service for the spring season called One Call Now.
2008 Officers Elected - The following will serve as
the Springfield Thunder Soccer Club Officers which is often referred to
as the board. Molly Price (U10 parent) who was elected secretary and
Paul Maletic (U14 coach and parent) who was elected vice president are
new members of the board. Cindy Beckdahl returns as our treasurer
and uniform manager. Gene Pitstick (past vice president) will
assume the role of president. Then new board will meet March 10 at
7:30 to begin planning for this year.
The club wishes to thank Miguel Pedraza for his many
years of service to the club as president and Laura Watkins for being
our secretary for the past 2 years.
2008 Committees Chairs named - Cindy Beckdahl will head
up the Uniform Committee to select the uniform for next fall. Paul
Maletic will serve as the Tournament Director. Ernie Jarrell will
head up the Tryout Committee to market the club and our June tryouts.
Springfield of Dreams
Charity Cup - The club is preparing the fifth annual Charity Cup for
August 16 and 17, 2008. Any parent who would like to serve on the
Cup Committee this summer should contact the new tournament director

Trainer - Springfield Thunder Soccer Club will be using the services of
Matt Kohl to train our teams this spring.
