Club Growth - Springfield Thunder Soccer
Club is growing in number of teams and players. We have went from
10 U9-U14 teams in 08-09 to 16 teams in 09-10. We anticipate we
will field 21 teams this fall.

Trainer/Director of Coaching
- Springfield Thunder Soccer Club
is happy to announce that Norm Riker will be
the club trainer and director of coaching for our teams. Norm has been the Women's Soccer
Coach at Wittenberg University since 2002. He has turned
the Tigers into a force in the North Coast Athletic Conference, one of
the preeminent women's soccer conferences in all of NCAA Division III.
Wittenberg has an outstanding 58-15-12 record between the 2004-07
seasons, including four straight top-three finishes in the NCAC regular
season title chase. The Tigers have been ranked in the top 10 in the
Great Lakes Region for most of the last four seasons and broke into the
national top 25 briefly in 2005 and 2006 before putting together the
best season in school history in 2007. He holds numerous coaching
licenses, most notably the National Soccer Coaches Association of
America (NSCAA) Premiere Diploma and a United States Soccer Federation B
License.
One Call Now - Springfield Thunder Soccer
Club will continue to purchase the One Call Now service for each of the club teams
for the fall 2010 and spring 2011 seasons. This service allows the
coach or his designee to make one call to the service and the service
than makes calls to each parent on the team.

Charity Cup

The club sponsors the annual Charity Cup each year in
August. This year it is August
14-15, 2010. Any parent who would like to serve on the
Cup Committee this year should contact the tournament director
